A little bit of love

I think I figured out what my problem with Mike is. I spend too much time trying to shape him into my dream man than really giving him a chance. Maybe if I look at all he does do instead of what I think he should do we would both be happier and he'd be a little more inclined to change. At least I really hope so. I just don't think that what I want is really so bad or hard to do.
1. Slightly skinny. I'm not asking for a six pack or anything, just a stomach that isn't as big as mine was when I was pregnant.
2. Offer to help with the baby. I don't think I need to ask every time something needs done or ask if he can play with her. I would love a "I know you stay up all night with Melody, let me take her so you can nap".
3. Be a little romantic. Nothing like taking me out somewhere nice, expensive jewelry, or even a walk down the beach(if there was one close by). Just no farting or nose picking. Maybe a little movie night with some cuddling.
4. Not be as rude and controlling. Now this is the big one. Just because something doesn't go how he wants it to go or isn't how he wants it to be doesnt mean he gets to throw a whole hissy fit, change everything so it goes his way, or trash talk.

I feel crafty

Somehow I found a way to be crafty today. I had found this tutorial here on how to make baby bows out of old ties. Well my dad has a bunch of ties, he hates ties, and I thought this would be super fun which it was.

First I measured the skinny part of the tie around my head to see how long it needed to be (this caused the tie to be to big for Melody so it became mine).

I then took out the stitching and lining of the fatter part of the tie so I could use it to make my "flower".

I then sewed on a little part of elastic on the ends, after I sewed the two ends closed. THen I used this thing called mend it (this works just like super glue or a hot glue gun) and glued my flower pieces together and onto my headband.

Worst day ever plusvsome grapes

I'm pretty sure yesterday could be considered the worst day ever. Got in a pretty big fight with Mike, thats never any fun, I dont even get what we fight about. And then after going out we get into a "fight" with my parents, not sure if it could be considered a fight. It was supposed to be a whole family talk but I don't think we got anything said, just heard from them. Isn't that how it always is though? Everyone else is always the problem.

But on the bright side today was Melodys first time to eat whole grapes! Well not reall whole... First we skinned them then we cut them in half then half again then half again, we might of even cut them again after all of that. Point is she absolutely loved them!

Oh my!

So much happened today. We put little red shoes on Melody, went to the park, learned said shoes squeak when she walks. She then went into a baby swing for the first time and did not like it. After the park we came home and ran around the whole house with her. I took a break and went to a work out class where I got beat. Upon coming home I ran around the house more, this time only holding one of Melodys hands (she was holding a milk jug). When she found another milk jug, one for each hand, she started walking on her own! Oh how exciting!

Of to Neverland

Right now I'm rocking my baby and not believing how big she already is. She's almost too long for me to hold like this and it just breaks my heart knowing I won't be able to do this forever. I now know how my mother feels. I just want to freeze time and watch as sugar plums dance through her little head. I feel like I've missed so much even though I've barely left her side these past 10 months. Honestly I just don't want her to grow up but I'm worried about living in the past to much and missing out on enjoying these days. Let's just go to Neverland.

This week the trend

Today I got am email from Heidi at and I thought I'd give them a little shoutout. Lookville is a nice place to get tips and ask questions about current fashion. Since I'm not too much of a fashion forward person (though I would love to be) I think this is a great site. All my boyfriend says about my style is "it's okay youre a photographer, y'all look funny." How nice right?

No poo?

A few months ago I decided to go without shampoo, trust me it's not gross. I found the idea here http://simplemom.net/how-to-clean-your-hair-without-shampoo/. Our hair produces natural oil that is, well, good and shampoo washes out the oil which then causes our hair to produce more. Yeah not good. So going no poo is the way to go, or so I believe. Instead of using shampoo and conditioner you use 1 tbsp of baking powder and apple cider vinegar and a cup of water (the baking powder ad cider go in different cups). These are natural (as far as I know) and are a whole lot cheaper than the alternatives.

So far my hair has had like no dandruff and has been extra soft. I would say this was a success!

Boyfriends, phones, and menus

So recently (like 2 days ago) my boyfriend has moved in, yay? And just tonight for the very first time I am attempting to post from my phone so we'll see how well this works. So since my boyfriend has moved in he's been constantly asking what's for dinner and finally getting tired of telling him I decided to make a menu board. For this I got a 8x20 picture frame, cut out a piece of scrapbook paper and then wrote the days of the week in sharpie. It turned out very nice and by using a dry erase marker I can just wipe off the meals when the next week starts! Oh and please excuse my terrible handwriting :P

Coral

Today my mommy got me a coral cactus!

I pretty much think it is the coolest thing ever but the only problem is I'm not to sure how to take care of it or where I should put it. And it will bloom eventually, I have not had a plant that has done that so I am super excited! Not being able to b very creative at the moment I will just call her Coral. Apparently it needs bright indirect sunlight, does that just mean by a window? Anyways I don't know why I've gotten so interested in plants over the past year. I guess they're like a pet that's harder to kill and not as devastating if it dies.
